Q Industries are proud to be involved in the Kids Under Cover – Preventing Youth Homelessness ‘2017 Cubby House Challenge’, a challenge to design and build Australia’s best cubby.
The annual Cubby House Challenge is sponsored by Kids Under Cover, a not for profit organisation dedicated to preventing youth homelessness.
Kids Under Cover have been committed to supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged young people between the ages of 12 and 25 since 1989.
The organisation responds to the needs of young people at risk of becoming homeless due to extreme conflict or overcrowding within the family home, mental health issues, and the housing affordability crisis. Taking an early-intervention approach to preventing youth homelessness by combining accommodation and scholarships for young people at-risk of homelessness.
The Cubby House Challenge raises funds for Kids Under Cover’s work, and educate the public on the importance of keeping at-risk youth connected to their family, community and education.
Q Industries will be working with principle partner FMSA Architecture, along with Aurecon, RMIT University, Bowens & Upstream Studio to provide lighting for a great cause.
The 5 cubby houses will be displayed, judged & auctioned in March at the 2017 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, where the aim as official charity partner is to raise much-needed funds as well as increasing their profile within the wider community.
